Welcome to Amélies, Porthleven

Gaze out through the glass-fronted restaurant doors at boats bobbing in Porthleven harbour, or enjoy a panoramic view from the terrace.

Dine on lobster plucked fresh from the waves, or tuck into one of our famous burgers. Join us for one of our Summer Sessions or music nights and soak in a special atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else.

Enjoy fresh food, fine wines and excellent service in our award-winning restaurant located at the heart of Porthleven.

With the twinkling lights in the harbour, and the bobbing boats outside our glass doors, there really is nowhere more special to spend your Valentines than at Amélies.  To find out about our L’amour Valentines click here.

In the words of Oscar Wilde – “Never love anyone that treats you like you’re ordinary”.

In 2016 we won the Best Cornish Sunday Roast at the Cornwall Life Food & Drink Awards and were Highly Commended in the Best Restaurant Category at the Cornwall Tourism Awards. We were also featured in The Times Newspaper’s Top 20 places to Eat Seafood by the Sea and named as Coast Magazine’s Cool Cafe for May. In 2015 we featured on Alex Polizzi’s Chefs on Trial on BBC 2. Find out more here.

By Day

informal cafe

We’re an informal café bar. Enjoy a sumptuous seafood lunch, a light bite and a coffee or a glass of fizz on the restaurant terrace as you watch the world go by.

By Night

relaxed & intimate

Tuck into seafood fresh off the boat, share a romantic steak dinner or treat the family to a wood-fired pizza. When the sun sets the tealights are lit and Amélies is transformed into a relaxed and intimate restaurant on the Porthleven waterfront.

sundays are special

There’s nothing like a Sunday roast. It’s the perfect time to recover from busy lives and enjoy precious time with loved ones. On Sundays we welcome you to enjoy our special lunchtime menu, and chill out to some of our favourite local music acts. Cornwall Life named us the Best Cornish Sunday Roast at their Food and Drink Awards.
