A fundraising candlelit supper on December 1st

Flickering candlelight. Music on the baby grand. Fantastic food.

And all for a great cause.

We’ll be hosting a Candlelit Supper in aid of ShelterBox on Friday 1st December. Our own head chef Donato Dondiego will be teaming up with local chefs Ben Arthur and Chris Brooks from Seadrift to create a fabulous, Caribbean-inspired menu that reflects ShelterBox’s recent deployments following the devastating hurricanes in the area.

ShelterBox is an international charity that provides vital aid and protection to families who have lost everything due to natural disaster and conflict. The Shine for ShelterBox campaign aims to raise money to bring light to the lives of those suffering in the darkness during the long winter months. When disasters strike and power lines go down, families are left vulnerable, wrenched away from comfort and light.

This is why every ShelterBox they pack includes solar lights that dispel the dark and bring immediate safety to those who have lost everything. In the darkness, everything from dangerous ground to dangerous animals is hidden, leaving families vulnerable and immobile until the sun rises again. With one click, families can see exactly who or what is around them. They can spot any threats, take action and raise the alarm. Shine for ShelterBox means more light for families, providing safety, hope and comfort at a time when they need it most.

Learn more about the campaign by watching this short video.

Tickets cost £25 for three courses and tea or coffee and all profits will be donated to ShelterBox. Book on 01326 653653 or by emailing steveb@ameliesporthleven.co.uk

This event will mark the re-opening of the restaurant following our closure during November and then from December 2nd-23rd we’ll be offering our Christmas menu to groups of 2-102!
